FACSS Charles Mann Award Presented to Andrew Whitley at SciX 2018

Andrew Whitley was presented with the FACSS Charles Mann Award at SciX 2018, held October 21–26 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jackson.)The award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated advancements at a conference presented by FACSS in the field of applied Raman Spectroscopy, or who has demonstrated dedication to the advancement of the Raman spectroscopy program at a conference presented by FACSS or the ASTM Raman subcommittee.

Whitley’s career has focused on vibrational spectroscopy and product development and sales. He is the vice president of sales and business development at Horiba Scientific in Piscataway, New Jersey, where he has worked since 2000. In his current role, Whitley is responsible for marketing at Horiba, ensuring important applications and opportunities for product development are identified and properly assessed. His work at Horiba requires networking and collaboration across a wide range of customers and markets to accurately monitor market needs and opportunities. 

Whitley received his PhD from the University of Durham in the United Kingdom. His professional memberships include the Society for Applied Spectroscopy, the Coblentz Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the UK Infrared and Raman Discussion Group.
