Spectroscopy

Teledyne Instruments (Thousand Oaks, California), a subsidiary of Technologies Inc. (City of Industries, California), has acquired Photon Machines, Inc. (PMI). Headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, PMI is a designer and manufacturer of laser-based sample introduction equipment for laboratory instrumentation.

PMI’s laser ablation systems allow elemental analysis when only a small amount of sample is present. Such analyses are useful in medical research, forensic, and materials science applications.
