Enwave has developed and commercialized a portfolio of precision Raman instruments over its 10-year history. The company provides laboratory-grade measurements to a product line that includes handheld, portable, bench top, and installed process control instruments. The Enwave acquisition expands TSI’s ChemLogix family of chemical analysis solutions.
The purchase of the Raman spectroscopy technology from Enwave follows the acquisition of the laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy technology for elemental analysis of solid materials from PhotonMachines, Inc. in 2012.

Their advantages and limitations are highlighted, particularly for heterogeneous particle size distributions and real-world variations in the optical properties of particulate samples. Hybrid and emerging computational strategies, including Monte Carlo methods, full-wave numerical solvers, and machine learning (ML) models, are evaluated for their potential to produce more generalizable prediction models.
