Ruth Merrifield, PhD, is ICP-MS product manager at PerkinElmer, with 20-plus years of experience in analytical chemistry, atomic spectroscopy, and physics. Merrifield joined PerkinElmer in 2017 as a field application scientist, transitioned to atomic spectroscopy technical product manager in 2024, and to her current role in 2025. She earned her PhD in nanoscale physics from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom and worked in academia before joining PerkinElmer.
