The largest Andor facility is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which is a new, purpose-built 50,000 sq. ft. premise. The premises include state of the art optical, electronic, and mechanical workshops, a 3000 sq. ft. class 1000 clean room, vacuum and electronic processing facilities. Andor also maintains sale and sales support facilities throughout the world close to our customers.
Andor is a global leader in the pioneering and manufacturing of high performance scientific imaging cameras, spectroscopy solutions, and microscopy systems for research and OEM markets. Andor has been innovating the photonics industry for over 25 years and continues to set the standard for high performance light measuring solutions, enabling its customers to break new ground by performing light measurements previously considered impossible. Andor's digital cameras are allowing scientists around the world to measure light down to a single photon and capture events occurring within 1 billionth of a second.
In the analytical and life sciences markets Andor products are particularly suited to fundamental research in the field of biology, nanotechnology, material characterization (polymers, semi-conductors), chemical analysis, and astronomy as well as industrial applications such as food and safety, process control, drug screening, forensic, environment/water monitoring, and solar panel inspection.
Andor's spectroscopy range features a high performance CCD platform (Newton) with dedicated spectroscopy EMCCD for rapid, ultra low-light applications. Andor's most popular CCD/InGaAs platform is the iDus, for all general spectroscopy applications, alongside the iStar ICCD platform for ns gated applications. The Shamrock family is a versatile spectrograph platform, with USB connectivity and seamless configuration with a wide range of accessories, including fiber optics bundles, and microscopes interfaces. Holospec spectrograph offers a unique combination of high throughput and high density multitrack capabilities. Solis software boasts a dedicated interface, integrating data acquisition and cameras/spectrographs simultaneous control.

Getting accurate IR spectra on monolayer of molecules
April 18th 2024Creating uniform and repeatable monolayers is incredibly important for both scientific pursuits as well as the manufacturing of products in semiconductor, biotechnology, and. other industries. However, measuring monolayers and functionalized surfaces directly is. difficult, and many rely on a variety of characterization techniques that when used together can provide some degree of confidence. By combining non-contact atomic force microscopy (AFM) and IR spectroscopy, IR PiFM provides sensitive and accurate analysis of sub-monolayer of molecules without the concern of tip-sample cross contamination. Dr. Sung Park, Molecular Vista, joined Spectroscopy to provide insights on how IR PiFM can acquire IR signature of monolayer films due to its unique implementation.
Researchers Develop Adaptive Gap-Tunable SERS Device
April 24th 2024In a new study, researchers from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology and Pohang University of Science and Technology presented a new surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) device, improving gap plasmon resonance.
