In 2020, the USP released two new chapters on near-infrared (NIR) and Raman spectroscopy. These chapters formalize guidance for using Raman and NIR spectroscopy but stop short of explaining exactly how to implement the techniques. Implementing spectroscopy in the pharmaceutical environment under USP guidelines requires demonstrating fitness-for-purpose.
