The Medicine Identification New Database (MIND) from S.T. Japan-Europe GmbH is designed to quickly and accurately identify unlabeled medication. According to the company, the MIND database is suitable for use by untrained individuals, and consists of a 3-moduled screening process, which includes identification of (1) commercial information (manufacturer, CAS number and active pharmaceutical ingredient); (2) organoleptic properties (type, shape, color, size, weight); and (3) medication and counterfeit medication (based on collecting an ATR‐FTIR spectrum).
