Company Description

ICL is a fully integrated materials technology and sampling accessories manufacturer of IR crystal optics and FT-IR spectroscopy sampling accessories. It is the only US manufacturer of KBr, NaCl, and KCl crystals. ICL's robust, corrosion-proof gas cells and other high quality gas analysis accessories are the industry standard. ICL is a highly regarded vendor to instrument manufacturers and has received numerous honors such as "Vendor of the Year" from instrument manufacturers for on time, defect free product deliveries. ICL is engaged in R&D projects with major research laboratories, including ongoing projects with Brookhaven National Laboratory.

Major Products/Services

ICL products enable spectroscopists to make the most out of modern spectroscopic instruments. Products include IR crystal optics; KBr powder; liquid and gas transmission cells; long path gas cells; cuvettes for UV–vis, NIR, and fluorescence spectroscopy; solid sampling accessories such as mills, mortars and pestles, lab presses and dies for making KBr pellets for IR spectroscopy, and briquets for XRF spectroscopy.

Facility

ICL provides customer support at our state of the art manufacturing plant in Garfield, New Jersey. We maintain several FT-IR and UV–vis spectrophotometers for product quality control. Our plant is serviced by a 150 kWh backup generator which guarantees that we are able to be productive at all times, including 100% on line time during Hurricanes Irene and Sandy.

Jurgen Popp, Thomas Mayerhofer, and colleagues at Leibniz IPHT and Friedrich Schiller University Jena introduce the Personalized Optical Digital Twin (PODT), a Photonics21 contribution to Europe's Virtual Human Twin ecosystem that connects molecular photonics—Raman blood analysis, coherent Raman tissue imaging, and multimodal endomicroscopy—with longitudinal physiology and clinical data. Drawing on the published multicenter INTELLIGENCE trials, the authors argue that technical feasibility and clinical utility must be evaluated separately as the field moves toward Europe's FP10 research agenda.
