ASTM Standard D-6751 - Determination of Trace Elements in Biodiesel Fuel Using the Teledyne Leeman Lab’s Prodigy 7 ICP-OES

April 19, 2016

Biodiesel fuel is easily analyzed using the Prodigy7 ICP. The detection limit of Teledyne Leeman Lab’s Prodigy7 ICP-OES readily exceeds the requirements of the ASTM D-6751 Standard against which biodiesel must be measured. Samples are easily prepared by dilution with a suitable solvent. Sample spike recoveries and reference standards results indicate that the method is suitable for the analysis of biodiesel fuels and that matrix interferences are not an issue.

Determining Trace Elements in Edible Oils Using Inductively Coupled Plasma–Optical Emission Spectrometry

November 01, 2015

This paper describes the analysis of edible oils radial view ICP-OES. Information is provided regarding the most suitable wavelengths, background correction, and integration times. Results of a detection limit study are presented. The accuracy of the analytical method is validated using soybean, olive, and corn oil matrices.
