Attributing the source of CO2 presents challenges for environmental agencies and research institutions. CO2 isotope ratios carry information about the emitter. However, their continuous monitoring presents a complex task. The Thermo Scientific Delta Ray CO2 Isotope Ratio Infrared Spectrometer (IRIS) enables scientists to perform isotope ratio analysis directly where the sample is taken. On a road trip through Canada, the analyzer was installed in an RV and continuously monitored the CO2 concentrations, 13C and 18O isotope ratios coast to coast.
