Toptica Photonics, a German laser manufacturer, reached an agreement to buy the French fiber laser technology company Azurlight Systems SAS. The deal became official on December 22nd, 2022.
Azurlight Systems makes continuous wave (CW) infrared (IR) and visible fiber lasers and amplifiers designed for low noise—for application in quantum technologies, high power argon gas laser replacement, laser Doppler velocimetry, high brightness laser pumping, laser holography, metrology, and interferometry.
Under the agreement, Azurlight will continue to build its laser business under the Toptica name and form the French hub for Toptica. Toptica believes that this acquisition will allow for better consumer access to an experienced team of experts covering laser technology and technical support.
