Bernhard Lendl is the head of the working group on Process Analysis & Vibrational Spectroscopy at the Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics Division of Analytical Chemistry Vienna University of Technology (Vienna, Austria). In 2002 Lendl received the Fritz Pregl award of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. In 2003 he was awarded the Fritz Feigl award of the Austrian Society of Analytical Chemistry.
Cosima Koch studied technical physics at Vienna University of Technology, focusing on ultrasonics, medical physics and biophysics. She joined the workgroup in May 2010 as a fellow of the "Applied Bioscience Technology" (AB-Tec) grad school to do her PhD. Her research interest lies in on-line detection and quantification of stress in yeast cells using an ultrasonic enhanced fibre optic mid-IR sensor..
The FACSS Innovation Awards were launched at the 2011 SciX conference to showcase the newest and most creative science debuted orally at the conference.
